Post System
Groupshow, Gallery Ladislav Sutnar, Riegrova 11, Plzeň
From 10 July to 27 August 2025
(post-)System is a traveling and changing exhibition that was launched in March 2025 at the B7
artspace in Mechelen, Belgium.
The second edition of (post-)System takes place in the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery, Pilsen, CZ. Alongside
the works of 21 artists, the project includes the original document of a manifesto of curator Jan Van
Woensel, typewritten on 25 March 2000; a documentary photo wall of the B7 artspace exhibition;
and graphic design interventions by Ondřej Zámiš and Vojtěch Liebl. (post-)System in Pilsen is an
echo of the original, Mechelen edition of the exhibition. Selected artworks that are physically present
in the Ladislav Sutnar Gallery are recognizable in the documentary photos of the B7 artspace. This
doubling of the original (presented in the gallery) and its reappearance (in the photographic
documentation) reveals something about the history of the artwork that neither can be retrieved nor
recreated.
The third and fourth editions of (post-)System will take place in November 2025 at Mala gallery -
Laboratory of Contemporary Art, at Mystetskyi Arsenal National Art Museum, in Kyiv, Ukraine; and in
January 2026 at the Municipal Art Center, in Lviv, Ukraine.

Hans Segers examines the formal properties of a painting. He emphasises how a painting is only a representation and presents it as an imitation of reality, ‘trompe l’oeil’, painted object and elevated art object. References to painting and sculpture are never far away. He chooses a number of abstracted, recurring forms that evoke the thought of a cloud, tree trunk and house. They function as his image library from which he draws to refer to reality.
In the book Images Trouvées, Hans Segers collected twenty-nine shapes originally in a long concertina-shaped picture atlas, an archive of icons. Twenty-nine people from the art world in Belgium and France were invited to verbalise an image. As a result, the images in this book are enriched with new layers of meaning.
The text contributions are from: Paul Morez, Philip Aguirre, Hervé Bréhier, Koen Brams, Kasper De Vos, Nav Haq, Kathleen Weyts, Hélène Audiffren, Gwénola Ménou, Patrick Ronse, Win Van den Abbeele, Rinus Van de Velde, Lucie Renneboog, Frank Maes, Phillip Van den Bossche, Liesje Vandenbroeck, Suzanne Hetzel, Arnaud Vasseux, Kati Heck, Narcisse Tordoir, Isabelle Viallat, Inge Henneman, Pascal Neveux, Sofie Dederen, Indra Devriendt, Philippe Van Cauteren, Koen Sels, Rokus Hofstede et Xavier Noiret-Thomé.
